Description du poste

  • Participates in the design of a process unit, including establishing process design basis, development of process options and optimization of selected design. Reserved for Department Manager in smaller offices and Section Leader in larger offices. Accomplishes results through engineering employees within one discipline. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization's objectives and schedules. Responsible for all projects assigned to unit. Frequent contacts with equivalent level managers concerning projects, operational decisions or scheduling requirements.
  • Consults with lead process engineers and project managers on technical problems, staffing requirements, effort-hour estimates, and schedule issues in relation to commitments for project deliverables
  • Assigns lead and other process engineers to project teams, ensuring the best utilization of their talents and skill sets for the specific project requirements
  • Responsible for recruiting process engineering personnel
  • Demonstrates customer focus in all actions
  • Reviews and approves the use of outside engineering consultants in matters concerning the mechanical effort for all projects
  • Establishes and maintains a set of work instructions, procedures, specifications, and technical guidelines relative to the process section
  • Actively monitors project staffing requirements, adding or removing assigned personnel as required by project needs
  • Reviews and approves time sheets and expense reports for process personnel
  • Approves scheduling of vacations for mechanical personnel to minimize job disruptions and substitutions of manpower
  • Initiates, and approves routine performance appraisals for all mechanical personnel utilizing formal company performance review process
  • Provides consultation and guidance to department personnel on how to accomplish their goals
  • Responsible for the training and professional development of process personnel
  • Role model for open communications, relationship building, negotiations, and conflict resolution, and administrative professionalism
  • Responsible for overall departmental success

Profil recherché

  • Recognized Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in engineering or technical field from an accredited college or University required
  • 15+ years' of experience designing offshore production facilities required
  • Broad technical knowledge of engineering, and project execution required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • P.E. License preferred
